What is the eLearning Center (LMS)?

The NASM eLearning Center has also been known as the Learning Management System (LMS). The eLearning Center provides an online platform for NASM to conduct courses, continuing education and the distribution of MP3 and IPOD files to help you learn your materials. You can also schedule, transfer and learn more about purchased workshops in the eLearning Center

How do I access the NASM eLearning Center (LMS)?

You can log into the eLearning Center by visiting NASM.org and signing in. Or, you can go directly to the site by visiting learn.nasm.org.

Where is my workshop located?

Please visit http://www.nasm.org/workshops/ to learn about all of the NASM workshops and locations.

Log into the NASM eLearning Center at learn.nasm.org.

Select NASM CPT 3 Workshop under "My Courses".

After selecting this, you will be able to schedule, transfer and see the details of the workshop you are attending.

Will there be a test on the second day of the course?

No. The live course is an educational tool for you to learn more about the Optimum Performance Training model.

What can I expect at a live workshop and what should I bring?

Our workshops are hands-on to provide practical experience. Please wear workout clothes and bring a pen. A workshop handout will be provided.

How do I schedule or transfer my workshop?

To schedule or transfer your workshop, please log into the NASM eLearning Center (learn.nasm.org).

Option #1
Once logged in, select the My Dashboard button on the left hand side of your screen. You will see “You have been enrolled in NASM CPT 3 Workshop. Please choose a session.” Click on “Please choose a session” and you will be allowed to schedule or transfer your workshop.

OR

Option #2
Once logged in, select "Add New Course" from the menu on the left side of your screen. Click on the workshop you purchased under the heading, "Instructor Lead Courses." A new window will appear that will allow you to scroll down and enroll in the location of your choice.

How can I schedule my exam?

All exams must be proctored, therefore exams are given at LaserGrade/PSI testing centers. To schedule your exam, you must call LaserGrade/PSI before your exam expiration date to make an appointment at 1-800-211-2754. You may schedule your exam 72 hours (or three business days) after enrollment. You may check details of testing locations near you by either calling LaserGrade/PSI directly, or visiting their website at

www.lasergrade.com

If you purchased your material prior to December 1, 2011 you will be taking the 3rd edition credentialing exam. If you purchased on or after December 1,2011 you will be taking the 4th edition credentialing exam

Can I take my exam on the day of my exam expiration?

You may take your exam on your day of exam expiration if you call LaserGrade/PSI at least 7 days in advance to schedule your appointment, and they have an appointment available for you.

NASM CPT 3 Study Tips

Study tips for the NASM CPT 3 examination are available in the NASM eLearning Center.

  1. Please follow the steps below to view them.
  2. Visit learn.nasm.org
  3. Sign in with your USER ID and PASSWORD.
  4. Select the NASM CPT 3 ONLINE course from the menu on the left.
  5. Choose the resources tab on the right and click on the "Preparing for the NASM CPT exam" file to view.

The The study tips will open using a .pdf reader.

In option B of the enrollment key email, the maximum number of students for this key has been reached

This message indicates that you have already used the enrollment key. If you have already completed Option A of the email there is no need to complete option B.

How many questions are on the CPT III exam? Is it timed?

You will have 2 hours to complete 120 multiple choice questions.

Can I use my study materials to take the exam?

No.

Can I purchase an extension?

No, you will recieve a pass or fail notification.

How long will it take to get my results?

You will receive immediate notification of a pass or fail at the testing center. If you pass certificate will be mailed to your address within four to six weeks. You may also print a temporary certificate from your LMS Account three business days after passing your exam.

What is LaserGrade - PSI?

LaserGrade-PSI offers proctored computer-based test administration and is the largest United States owned and operated network in North America. www.lasergrade.com.

I can not make my LaserGrade PSI exam appointment - how do I reschedule and is there a fee?

You must contact LaserGrade/PSI directly at 1-800-211-2754 with more than 24 hours notice to cancel and/or reschedule your exam. Please contact for fee information.

How many days do I have to take the exam?

Candidates have 365 days from the date of purchase to attempt the exam. Exam attempts expire after 365 days of purchase. Additional retests (exam attempts) can be purchased after this period.

If you do not take your test within 365 days from your purchase date, you may schedule a retest (at an additional cost) at any time after your testing period has expired.

You can purchase examination retests by contacting the NASM BOC at 800.460.6276, Option 3.

Is there a CPT practice exam?

Yes, you can access a practice exam in the NASM eLearning Center. Once logged in, select the NASM CPT 3 Online content and the practice exam will be at the bottom of the list.

Keep in mind that the practice exam is not to be used as a representation of the CPT examination. You should only be using it to quiz yourself of the various topics contained in the textbook. The practice exam is only one tool out of many to help you prepare for the examination. The actual CPT examination will be given through our third-party testing provider and it will not have the same visual look and feel. You have unlimited attempts on the practice exam.

If I do not pass the exam, how soon can I retest?

You must wait at least three business days before you can purchase a retest. After three days, contact the NASM Board of Certification directly at 1.800.460.6276, Option 3. After purchasing a retest, you may call LaserGrade/PSI after 24 hours to reschedule your exam. You will have an additional 180 days to take the exam after purchasing a retest.

Can I see which questions I answered correctly?

No, you will recieve a pass or fail notification. If your score was not passing you will receive an itemized percentage within each performance domain.

How do I login to access my course materials?

After purchasing your material, an email is sent to you containing a User ID and Password and the link to learn.nasm.org to get started. Once you log in, you can change your password. You can also visit www.nasm.org and choose "Sign In" at the top to gain access to the NASM eLearning Center.

How do I check my eligibility to take the exam?

Verify that your NASM account has been paid in full and that you have not exceeded your exam expiration date by logging onto your LMS Account. You have 180 days (from the date of purchase) to attempt the examination.

If you do not take your test within 180 days from your purchase date your examination attempt will expire. You may schedule another examination attempt by purchasing a retest (at an additional cost) at any time after your testing period has expired.

To test, you will need a current CPR and AED certification from the Emergency Care & Safety Institute, American Red Cross, American Safety and Health Institute, St. John Ambulance, Emergency Medical Technician, or the American Heart Association.
You must be at least 18 years of age.

What if I do not pass the final exam?

For advanced specializations, you have three attempts to take the exam. If you do not pass all three attempts, you may purchase three additional exam attempts. Please contact the NASM Board of Certification at 1-800-460-6276, Option 3 to purchase the retests.

How do I access quizzes for the PES and CES courses?

Log into the NASM eLearning Center at learn.nasm.org.

Select your course from the MY COURSES button on the left hand side. The PES and CES courses contain quizzes at the end of each chapter.

Please keep in mind that you also have three (3) attempts to take the PES or CES examinations. If you need more attempts, you can purchase them by contacting NASM at (800) 460-6276.

What do I do if my certification has expired?

Late Recertification Applications can be accepted only three months past the certification expiration date and a late fee must be included. For certifications that have expired beyond three months, please contact an Education Advisor at 1-800-460-6276, Option 1, as you will need to go through the certification process again.

How do I recertify?

To recertify you must:

1. Send in the recertification application
2. Complete 2.0 CEUs (Continuing Education Credits)
3. Provide a copy of your current CPR and AED certification.
