The Mindful Stress Management course requires no prerequisites for enrollment. It is tailored for individuals interested in enhancing their personal health and well-being, as well as for fitness and wellness professionals who wish to acquire knowledge and skills to better support their clients in managing stress effectively.

This chapter focuses on identifying and implementing methods for immediate stress relief. It introduces practical techniques such as journaling, intention setting, and breathing exercises to help manage acute stressors like anxiety, fatigue, and insomnia.

Through movement practices and mindfulness exercises, you’ll learn to respond to stress with calmness and clarity, transforming immediate challenges into manageable experiences.

In this chapter, you’ll explore the body's response to stress through an evolutionary lens, gaining insight into the autonomic nervous system and the stress response systems. The chapter covers the physical, mental, and emotional effects of both acute and chronic stress, highlighting the importance of understanding these processes to effectively manage stress. By examining the impact of stress on the body, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge to recognize and address stressors in your life.

This chapter emphasizes the importance of developing a sustainable, long-term stress management practice to maintain overall well-being. It explains the rationale behind incorporating movement, breath, and mindfulness practices into daily routines and offers tools and methods for each.

MINDFUL STRESS MANAGEMENT FAQS

NASM’s Mindful Stress Management is a wellness-focused program designed for anyone interested in exploring and improving their relationship with stress. With no prerequisites for enrollment, this course is accessible to all learners, whether they are seeking personal growth or looking to expand their professional skillset in the fitness and wellness industry.

This course is delivered completely online and can be accessed at your convenience any time over the 5-year period following the date of enrollment.

You will have five (5) years from the day of enrollment to complete the course. You can return at any time during that 5-year period to revisit any of the course content.

There is no final exam associated with Mindful Stress Management. A certificate of completion will be provided to you once you have reviewed the coursework in entirety (completed all pageviews). Progress can be checked via the course dashboard in your course materials.
